rrqLeePen: choose-mirror failed building "all" for "unstable" (on ganeti_i386_builder)11:05
LeePenJust looking11:55
rrqI triggered all 6 projects I've upgraded; they did build on my local beowulf12:00
rrqafaict the merge into unstable was problem-free, but I didn't build locally12:01
LeePenThat looks like package have changed upstream. I have seen this quite a lot with deb.devuan.org. pkgmaster.d.o seems better. I think amprolla for pdo might need to merge mroe often.12:02
LeePenThe short answer is just to rety and I think they will succeed.12:03
LeePenDo you want me to do that?12:03
rrqsure12:03
LeePenOK.12:03
rrqI'm about to drop off; will check status tomorrow12:04
rrqI'll keep my local beowulf builds for the isos, until it's all available for bewulf12:05
LeePenOK. Sleep well.12:05
LeePenI'll retry any failures.12:06
LeePenfsmithred: Hi. There is a new version of slim in unstable with the login_cmd reverted. Could you test in beowulf, please?12:25
fsmithredsure12:25
LeePenThanks.12:26
fsmithredLeePen, it works. (I'm always shocked by the default splash.)13:13
fsmithredrrq, install base system failed, I went back and it failed again, I continued and then went back and it asked if I wanted /usr merge, and then install base system worked.13:26
LeePenfsmithred: Excellent. I will move the new packages across to beowulf. Thanks for testing.13:28
fsmithredLeePen, the older slim is working in this new beowulf install.14:26
fsmithredrrq, I noticed that xfce was not checked in tasksel. I left it the way it was. Select and install software failed the first time. I went back and didn't change anything and it worked the second time.14:27
fsmithredprevious test of slim was on a system with elogind. Current install uses consolekit. Could that be the difference?14:35
fsmithrednewer version of slim also works with the new install.14:39
LeePenThanks.15:23
LeePenRegarding slim with elogind/consolekit: it should work with either.15:24
LeePenI am going to keep the reverted slim login_cmd: there seem to be some cases when /etc/X11/Xsession needs invoing in a shell.15:25
fsmithredthat seems like a good choice15:43
fsmithredAttention all devs: I know we decided to ID as Debian, but I have to say that it's damned annoying to keep seeing Debian come up in the boot menu.15:44
fsmithredI was able to fix that before by changing the ID line in /etc/os-release, but that's not working now.15:45
fsmithredalso used to do it with /etc/lsb-release, but that doesn't work either.15:45
fsmithredI have to hard-code it in /etc/default/grub15:45
fsmithredrant over15:46
rrqfsmithred: yes that netinstall downloads the base system and is therefore "brittle"22:17
rrqperhaps it include the base system on the iso (like ascii2.1)22:20
rrqshould22:20
rrqfsmithred: please try with pkgmaster rather than deb22:31
rrqafaict avoiding /usr merge isn't an issue .. rather it seems deb hosts are iffy22:32
