g4570nHi, apparently it is necessary to regenerate the debian-installer-binaries, is pointing to the kernel version 4.19.0-9, when should do to the new version 4.19.0-10 in Beowulf. https://jenkins.devuan.dev/job/debian-installer-binaries/00:38
fsmithredLeePen, rrq, gnu_srs2, I tried trek's second patch on a live-dvd and it works. (patch from the last message in the bug 483 report)00:54
LeePenfsmithred: that is good news. Thanks for testing.10:36
LeePeng4570n: I have done it already. We don't use job/debian-installer* anymore, there is a now a single unified package builder https://jenkins.devuan.dev/job/devuan-package-builder/15:39
LeePenThe new beowulf mini.isos are https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/devuan/dists/beowulf/main/installer-<$arch>/current15:41
LeePenOr do they not work for you?15:42
g4570nHi, we are having a problem, the kernel versions pointed to by live-build and d-i do not match. The weird thing is that the kernel in the mini.iso is up to date. This is a screenshot of the error: https://0x0.st/iYjZ.jpg18:32
LeePenSo that looks like the live-build needs updating?18:39
fsmithreddoesn't really matter for the live isos. The kernel in the live system is the stock kernel, even if old, and that's what gets copied to the hard drive during install. That's unlike the installer isos that have a sepaate kernel for the installer.18:41
fsmithredg4570n, how did you get that screen???18:42
fsmithredwhat iso are you using?18:42
fsmithredone of aitor's unofficial isos?18:43
g4570nLeePen: Yes I think so. Every so often the same thing happens, in May it was solved by doing that18:44
g4570nhttps://jenkins.devuan.dev/job/debian-installer-binaries/18:44
g4570nfsmithred: He created a live ISO with live-build, started it in live mode, and when he tried to start the installation from live mode, that problem arose18:46
g4570nJavier of EterTics18:46
fsmithredonly solution I know for that case is to rebuild the iso18:58
g4570nYes, in May the same thing happened and it was solved like that, but I remember bad19:02
fsmithredother option would be to use a different installer in the live environment.19:03
fsmithredI think it would work if you installed either refractainstaller or the other one whose name I can't remember at the moment19:03
fsmithredcaliope? calipso? cheshire cat?19:04
fsmithredcalamares!19:04
g4570nfsmithred: Calamares can be used in Devuan? He wanted to use Calamares,  now he uses the old d-i because according to him it is easier for anyone to use that installer19:07
fsmithredcalamares is in the repo. I haven't tried it yet.19:08
fsmithredrefractainstaller is also in the repo. I think maybe etertics has used that in the past.19:08
fsmithredif it uses devuan repositories, you can boot the live, install one of the other live installers and then install the running system.19:09
fsmithredyou should be able to do that with 2G of ram no problem.19:10
fsmithredif you try calamares, please let me know how it goes19:10
g4570nOk, I'll tell Javier about that. And if he does tests with calamares, I'll tell you how he did with that19:14
fsmithredwell, I meant for you to try it. You were attempting to do an install, weren't you?19:16
fsmithredyou could be finished in about 10 - 15 minutes.19:16
g4570nJavier was trying yesterday19:23
g4570nhe asked me to notify them of the problem19:23
fsmithredd-i was just rebuilt a few days ago, I think. What else is there for devuan to do?20:43
fsmithredAug. 220:44
g4570nLeePen: Just to know, do you plan to rebuild the debian-installer package, to solve the problem I mentioned earlier today?23:39
