a6Y37l | I'm using espeakup and espeak on devuan since I've never been able to see a screen. Those work well, but I can't get vlc or audacious or mplayer or mpd to play any sound. I've changed line 1676 to point at SB which is my sound card device in ~/.config/vlc/vlcrc but that didn't do anything to get vlc working. I think the dng mailing list part of the devuan.org website no longer works since I've posted | 01:10 |

a6Y37l | several subscription requests and never got a confirmation message or anything else acknowledging my request so I wrote to dng-owner@dyne.org and then decided to see if #devuan channel could help. | 01:10 |

specing | Any ideas how to open cramfs archives on devuan? | 03:43 |
specing | Looks like many debian packages are missing. | 03:43 |
fsmithred | specing, what's missing? | 04:14 |
mrpfilser | maybe cramfsprogs - at least i don't see it | 07:48 |
mrpfilser | specing, curious about cramfs - what do you use it for? | 07:51 |
* rrq found fsck.cramfs and mkfs.cramfs in util-linux | 07:52 | |
mrpfilser | my beowulf repo has squashfs-tools and squashfuse, if that can be an acceptable substitute for you? | 07:52 |
specing | mrpfilser: the oscilloscope that I want to buy has Linux packed into cramfs, and I want to hack it to run devuan or something | 17:28 |
mrpfilser | specing: can you compile cramfs tools yourself? | 17:29 |
mrpfilser | also do consider your space limitations on the device. cramfs is max ~270MB | 17:29 |
specing | mrpfilser: I can. the NAND is 256MB I think | 17:30 |
specing | but I think if I do it, I'll just have grub there to chain-load rootfs from a large USB stick | 17:30 |
mrpfilser | perhaps something like alpine linux would be a better fit | 17:30 |
specing | I was just looking for a more out-of-the-box solution for looking into a cramfs filesystem | 17:30 |
specing | perhaps | 17:31 |
specing | depends on what the scope binary program requires | 17:31 |
mrpfilser | oh if you can boot from usb | 17:34 |
specing | The SoC is a Xilinx Zynq, 7020 or better. So it should be easy to develop for it | 17:37 |
specing | and the scope has two usb ports on the case | 17:38 |
