frabbit | surfraw -browser=lynx wikipedia surfraw | 01:18 |
frabbit | buZz: oh take a look at the dependencies, surf2 depends on libs only | 01:21 |
frabbit | surf depneds on curl, stterm, suckless-tools.... | 01:21 |
frabbit | *depends | 01:22 |
g4570n | frabbit: I think it is, because surf2 uses a new gkt webkit engine | 01:54 |

* palinuro sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/xdmezmBVirEQgJjJevakOIAi > | 05:40 | |
onefang | some_alex: Unregistered nickname might be a problem, you could try registering a nickname, see if that helps. | 05:47 |
onefang | palinuro: will you be joining us in #devuan-dev to talk about your work? | 05:55 |
sauron- | fc | 05:59 |
kaun_ | ascii netinstall, then dist-upgraded to beowulf straightaway. Have minor problem with X, as it only gives me the lightdm graphical console (no text consoles accessible - switching to them makes the display go 'no signal'). Otherwise, very happy to be back on a Debian derivative after a few years on Gentoo. | 11:44 |
kaun_ | Also, anyone compiled a kernel dpkg on beowulf (linux-4.19) and hit an 'opensslv.h not found' error? | 11:45 |
emdete | i use a network setup based on ifupdown / iwd / udhcp. iwd comes without init.d script (which i wrote) but i ran into the problem that the network is setup on runlevel S while iwd needs dbus which is setup later. so udhcp fails and the setup isnt done. does someone have a solution? | 15:43 |
miojo` | hi | 16:01 |
miojo` | guys, what is the latest version of devuan that i should install? | 16:02 |
miojo` | bewolf is stable enough for a production desktop? | 16:04 |
emdete | miojo`: ceres :) i use it since i switched from debian unstable and have no problems | 16:05 |
miojo` | what about bewolf? | 16:15 |
some_alex | emdete: I've been using iwd on my parabola + OpenRC install and I had to write init script for it as well. Check if your init system supports specifying required order of initialization (what depends on what). | 16:40 |
emdete | some_alex: sure it does but as i said network is started in a different runlevel (S) and requires wifi while wifi requires dbus which isnt avail at that point. | 17:12 |
emdete | the problem is that udhcpc just terminates once the IF is still down. i found no way to give it options via ifupdown to stay & keep trying. my current idea is to use "manual" as ifupdown method and start udhcp from there with the required option... | 17:14 |
some_alex | emdete: ah, got it. Maybe put network on a different runlevel? Why should it be in S? | 17:41 |
emdete | some_alex: its devuan default. maybe some special requirement. it even complains on "restart" telling it may fail. | 20:20 |
fsmithred | emdete, are you talking about this message? "Running /etc/init.d/networking restart is deprecated because it may not re-enable some interfaces" | 20:27 |
fsmithred | am I here? | 20:28 |
mason | Sorry for the bouncing around. Mucking with my irssi. Done now. | 23:55 |
