chem|st~RBL14:44
infobotrumour has it, rbl is Mail Abuse Prevention System (MAPS)'s Realtime Blackhole List, a system to identify likely origins of spam.  See http://mail-abuse.org/rbl/14:44
chem|stif anyone has a working solution mail it to techstaff, if you have suggestions, keep'em - they don't work14:47
chem|stother websites use services that cost money or do not have servers hosted themselves - anyone who ever maintained firewall hardware knows that you easily lockout too much and easily get the wrong stuff in if you do not kill all and let god sort them out14:49
user__anyone here?15:51
* DocScrutinizer05 headdesks18:43
DocScrutinizer05please elaborate >>prevents the trimesterial fallout IPHH was not amused<<18:44
DocScrutinizer05I know how IP blocking got offloaded to firewall, but for sure not because firewall needs that, it been done on request of subsystems whose admins felt like not beaing capable of dealing with spambots on  their local systems18:47
DocScrutinizer05I also might point out there were statements where chem|st claimed to seize position of head of techstaff, so now rejecting to deal with requests that are mainly triggered by problems users have with tmo (subsystem maintainer: chem|st exclusively afaik) and would direct them to techstaff sounds quite weird18:53
DocScrutinizer05>>other websites use services that cost money<< I think that's what donations to maemo that should still pile up in some e.V afaik were meant for, by their donors19:00
DocScrutinizer05I'll try to interpret >>if anyone has a working solution mail it to techstaff, if you have suggestions, keep'em - they don't work<< in a more friendly and constructive way, I'm sure it wasn't meant the way it sounds like. Maybe >>they don't work<< is meant to relate to the way maemo organization and hierarchy deals with stuuf, in which case I can see how suggestions won't work per se. So here's a solution which doesn't need getting sent19:41
DocScrutinizer05by email: update to either "https://www.vbulletin.com/en/purchases vBulletin 5 Connect" (USD 250.- once)  or lease "vBulletin Cloud" incl "vBulletin handle the hosting of your site, along with all the upgrades and server maintenance." (US $179.95 per year)19:41
DocScrutinizer05and yet it's a suggestion to maemo counsil who should discuss it publicly with community and finally coordinate and facilitate it19:44
DocScrutinizer05the notorious "send patches [err working solution] or STFU" FOSS dev killer reply for sure doesn't work in a community and administrative organization structure like maemo community19:47
