| brolin_empey | Maxdamantus: Apparently the problem I had with the cloned ext4 volume on the USB SSD was caused by HDClone because Debian seems to boot and work normally from this USB SSD after I reformatted the ext4 volume on the USB SSD using the same UUID and volume label as on the original drive then used rsync to copy the file system from the ext4 volume on the original drive to the new, empty volume on the USB drive.
