agrisrwp, i found out what the problem was04:53
agrisrwp, unforuntately it unconvered some other weird kernel issues in Devuan04:53
rwpagris, Don't keep us in suspense!  What was the problem?05:25
agrisrwp for some unknown reason all of the cpu governors were set to powersave05:29
agrisbut also, powersave and performance were the only available governors05:29
agriseven after  manually modproving cpufreq_ondemand05:30
agrisnothing I could do set the ondemand governor, so instead o set the governor to performance and perfbias to zero05:30
agristhe utility for doing so seems partially broken and unmaintained05:31
agriscpupower05:31
agrisi tried setting all at ounce but it didn't work despite being told to05:31
agrisso i set each individual core one by one05:31
agrissystem jumped in power consumption about 20-30 watts05:31
agrisbut the intermittant freezing is completely gone05:31
agriswhat's also weird is that the cpufreqtool can report the time it takes to scale the frequency but cpu power partially can't and produces redundant results05:32
agrisas you can see here05:33
agrishttp://dpaste.com/292AHUYMS05:33
agris  current CPU frequency: Unable to call hardware05:33
agris  current CPU frequency: 3.35 GHz (asserted by call to kernel)05:33
rwpInteresting.  I have no ideas.  Thanks for the update on it however!06:05
gnarfaceagris: what cpu is it? maybe the wrong driver is loading07:01
gnarfacethis is for arch but looks mostly relevant: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/CPU_frequency_scaling07:01
gnarfacein particular i am wondering if you've got the intel_pstate driver getting in the way07:01
gnarfaceor, if it's a custom kernel maybe you're just missing stuff07:02
agrisgnarface, intel 650007:03
agrisit's not a custom kernel it's the stock one07:04
agrisIntel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz07:04
GoatAvengerintel_pstate=disable07:21
GoatAvengeri wouldn't know what else to try07:21
HackphiLLe Salut à toutes et tous \0/07:34
GoatAvengerHackphiL, o/ greetings07:34
