norayri believe00:00
dsc_ic00:00
dsc_makes sense00:00
norayrso the easy way would be to add the code by copy pasting and hacking the build scripts but the better way is creating a separate package for a dependency.00:01
Wizzupdsc_: if it is a dep I can help get it in00:01
dsc_Wizzup: I should fork their repo right00:01
dsc_and then work on-top of that00:01
dsc_(as opposed to submodule)00:01
dsc_just confirming00:01
norayri don't understand what you work on. the code you fork is a dependency of your project? or it is your project?00:02
norayrin both cases you fork00:03
Wizzupdsc_: typically if a dep is not in debian, then we make a repo for it in maemo-leste-upstream-forks00:03
Wizzupif you want to static build it, that might be possible, but not sure if it works with submodules, I think it might.00:03
dsc_norayr: the fact `pathie` is a dependency of another project is irrelevant I think, my question is specifically about how to create the git repository for any preparation related to the inclusion of pathie into maemo-leste as a system library00:03
dsc_and yes, after the `pathie` package is finished, my project can start using it ^^00:05
* Wizzup got some bt headphones and bt keyboards :) 00:06
SabellusHi! I put maemo leste on the N900, I have a keyboard with Russian. I enabled it by setxkbmap ru. Now I can switch languages ctrl+space. But this only works in system applications from the maemo leste repository, for example in leafpad. In telegram-desktop, geany language switching does not work. How do I set this up for all apps?00:12
SabellusThere is not even a notification about switching the language, in the same telegram00:13
Wizzupdo you get the notification in the maemo programs?00:14
SabellusYes, everything works in the calendar or contacts app00:15
Wizzupinteresting, could you describe how you set this up, because we had people who had problems with this in the past00:15
Wizzupit is possible that hildon-input-method (h-i-m) integration is somehow necessary for this switching to occur, although that would surprise me just a little bit00:16
Wizzupif you switch in leafpad, does it remain switched for say geany?00:16
SabellusIn telegrams, by the way, the arrows begin to work as needed. In the Russian layout, two arrows on the fn button are combined, it works. But switching the language is not00:16
Wizzupok, so it sounds like the switching occurs, but you cannot change the language from non-maemo apps00:17
Wizzupthat's plausible, and something we probably ought to fix00:17
WizzupSabellus: would you be willing to write up a bug report for this?00:18
SabellusHmm, I haven't tried geany. But I changed the language in the terminal and launched telegram-desktop. In other words, I entered a command, changed the language, pressed enter and still got the English layout00:18
Wizzupoh, so you -do not- get the russian layout in telegram?00:19
Wizzup(in any case)00:19
SabellusI get a layout specific to my device. In other words, all the special characters are in the right places. The arrows work as needed. It looks as if the English layout is taken automatically and it cannot be changed00:21
SabellusYes, indeed, let me write a detailed bug report, attach a video and all my actions. It will be much clearer this way :)00:23
Wizzupthat would be very appreciated and will go a long way to getting it fixed for every app00:23
Wizzupdo you know where to file an issue?00:23
SabellusGithub? Right? On this platform , I just found a tip about setxkbmap ru to change the language in the maemo app00:25
WizzupSabellus: here: https://github.com/maemo-leste/bugtracker/issues/new00:34
Wizzupplease, share any tips you find, since I don't think we support alt. layouts well atm00:34
dsc_https://i.imgur.com/41hI4rp.png seems fine00:43
dsc_Wizzup: https://github.com/Quintus/pathie-cpp/compare/master...sanderfoobar:pathie-cpp:master00:43
Wizzupdsc_: should we also build the .so ?00:44
Wizzupotherwise it looks fine indeed00:45
Wizzupyou're quick ;)00:45
dsc_can also build .so if needed/wanted00:45
Wizzupprobably useful if you're making it a separate package imo00:45
dsc_sure00:45
WizzupI can make the required changes for this soon, maybe the CI part tomorrow00:46
dsc_ty00:46
WizzupI invited you to https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/pathie-cpp00:46

buZzsomewhere i'm amazed this works ; https://imgur.com/a/PHdTvVt21:58
buZzthe charger does seem a -bit- confused by the cell :P21:59
buZzkeeps charging to just 4.2V and then switch off, which makes voltage drop to 3.9V , and it turns charger back on, lol21:59
buZzbut, its charging, voltage -is- increasing over time somewhat :D21:59
buZz3400mAh cell, so will take forever at this rate i guess, maybe i'll just charge it externally22:00
buZzalso. suprisingly ergonomic? feels pretty nice in hand22:11
WizzupbuZz: this is for charging?23:12
buZzno, its being used as battery :P23:14
freemangordonbuZz: 300mV voltage drop?23:15
freemangordondoe not sound good :)23:15
buZzcould be :) the wires are verrrry flimsy23:15
freemangordonmaybe you should replace them with thicker/shorter ones23:16
buZzi'm amazed it works at all really :P made a extra leste SD card, gonna see where battery calibration puts it with these wires23:16
freemangordonthose sound like 3-5 Ohms23:17
buZzyeah too high23:17
buZztwo parallel might help23:17
freemangordonor one thicker?23:17
buZzas far as 18650 cells go, this is the biggest capacity available now, afaik23:18
freemangordonthose look like consisting of insulation and hair-thin wire :)23:18
buZzoh, the wires on the cellholder? its whatever aliexpress vendor put on it23:20
buZzyou assume two parallel wires23:20
buZzi ment two parallel cells ;)23:20
freemangordonah :)23:21
buZzto lower internal resistance23:21
freemangordonWizzup: are you going to test sip now?23:22
Wizzupfreemangordon: in ~20 mins or so probably23:25
WizzupI have a lot of dishes to go through ;)23:25
freemangordonheh23:25
bencohbuZz: are those Li-Ion?23:26
freemangordonWizzup: you should buy a dishwasher ASAP23:26
freemangordonbencoh: 18650?23:26
bencohwell, if that's what it is, then I guess it's Li-Ion yeah :)23:27
freemangordonmhm23:27
buZzbencoh: yes23:27
buZzspecifically a inr18650-35E23:27
freemangordonthough, I think 3400 mAh is a bit of...ummm...23:27
buZzhttps://eu.nkon.nl/samsung-inr18650-35e.html23:27
freemangordona wishful thinking :)23:27
bencohhaha23:28
buZzi dno, its really legit samsung though23:28
freemangordonoh, sammy ?!?23:28
buZzyes23:28
buZzSamsung INR18650-35E 3450mAh - 8A23:28
freemangordonthen I don;t know23:28
freemangordonlooks legit, yeah23:28
buZzup to 8A discharge23:28
bencohcould easily fact-check it based on battery volume and reulting (announced) energy density23:28
freemangordonbuZz: see reviews re impedance23:29
bencoh" max discharge current: 8A" that's sick23:30
freemangordonI doubt 2 in parallel will make any difference23:30
freemangordon"Impedance 22-24-28mohm"23:30
buZz22-24-28mohm23:30
freemangordonmhm23:30
buZz-milli- ohm?23:30
freemangordonsounds about right23:30
freemangordonoh23:31
freemangordonyes, sounds about right23:31
freemangordond4 battery has about 150 mOhm23:31
freemangordonso, I would bet on the wires ;)23:32
Wizzupfreemangordon: :D23:32
freemangordonbencoh: yeah, sounds crazy23:34
buZzthese cells are often in vapes and drill batteries etc23:37
freemangordonthere seem to be ones with 35A discharge current ?!?23:37
freemangordon*that* is sick23:38
buZzfreemangordon: lipo is even sicker :P23:39
buZzi have 5A lipo cells with 20-40C discharge rate23:39
buZz5Ah*23:39
freemangordonomg23:40
bencohuh23:41
bencohsounds like the best candidate for a homemade UPS23:43
buZzmaybe23:43
bencohjust stack a bunch of those23:43
buZzthere's even higher, check LTO batteries :D23:43
buZzhttps://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005066836896.html23:44
bencohSpecific energy60–110 Wh/kg[1]23:44
buZz10C at 40Ah , it can discharge at 400A23:44
bencohEnergy density177 Wh/L[1]23:44
bencohsounds good enough for me tbh23:44
buZzand charge at 8C , 320A :D23:44
bencohhuhu23:44
