maemish_When you get everything ready for the release, could you before the release update the N900 wiki and if possible add there detailed instructions for how to create the swap (on emmc / sdcard) and if you have other tweaks/tips how to make Leste snappier, f there is a away to overclock to 250 900 or how to take of transitions etc.? Would be highly appreciated.06:35
Wizzupfreemangordon: seems to work I think11:39
freemangordonWizzup: cool12:11
freemangordondo you want me to push the two other packages to chimaera repo?12:11
WizzupI did12:16
WizzupbuZz: want to try dist-upgrade now?12:16
freemangordonah, ok12:20
buZzWizzup: yez! in a bit14:14
buZzalright, here goes14:27
rafael2kI have an issue with apt-get dist-upgrade14:40
buZzwhats the issue?14:41
buZzi'm at 3% now :P14:41
rafael2kE: This installation run will require temporarily removing the essential package hildon-base:arm64 due to a Conflicts/Pre-Depends loop. This is often bad, but if you really want to do it, activate the APT::Force-LoopBreak option.14:42
rafael2kE: Reverse conflicts early remove for package 'elogind:arm64' failed14:42
buZzarm64? so on pinephone i guess?14:44
rafael2kyes14:44
buZzhmm, i'm not sure if that hildon-base/elogind issue is related to recent changes14:44
buZz~something changed around it14:44
rafael2kapt-get -o APT::Force-LoopBreak=yes  dist-upgrade14:48
rafael2klets see14:48
rafael2kit seems I killed the boss of the level14:48
rafael2k: )14:48
Wizzupthis only happens if you had consolekit14:49
Wizzupwhich others didn't14:49
Wizzupfyi14:49
buZzooo 'error processing package gconf2'14:50
norayrrafael2k: thank you for dealing with pp kbd, i also had same problems, and i am somehow unable to figure out/solve/push the fixes. also thank you for the kernel.14:50
rafael2knorayr, hey, I'm still trying to create a package for the keymaps!14:52
buZzhttp://paste.debian.net/plain/1273242  <-- seems circular?14:52
norayrbtw i usually prefer to not use keyboard lately. Because my chargers don't charge the keyboard. I need a pine64 charger to charge it. And it is too big to carry around. So I have just a pinephone usually with me, it's flat and convenient. Plus a power bank.14:52
rafael2kbut at least with layout pp and variant altgr the keyboard can be used...14:53
rafael2knorayr, I'm using my old samsung changer14:53
rafael2kit definitelly does not give more than 5V14:53
buZzgconf2 depends on default-dbus-session-bus | dbus-session-bus; however: Package dbus-x11 which provides default-dbus-session-bus is not configured yet.14:54
buZz:D14:54
norayrbut then there are onscreen kbd problems of course.14:54
buZzmaybe i should do dbus-x11 first by hand14:54
norayrrafael2k: good that samsung charger is able to charge it. how much watt does it provide?14:54
rafael2knorayr, lemme check14:54
buZzWizzup: any ideas? :)14:55
rafael2k ppkb-i2c-charger-ctl info14:55
rafael2knorayr, this I check to see if it is charging14:55
Wizzup14:50 < buZz> ooo 'error processing package gconf2'14:56
rafael2kI read sometimes you need to press the button for it to start charging (I never really pressed that button)14:56
Wizzupthis is in the backlog I think14:56
Wizzupmaybe search fori t14:56
* buZz searches14:56
rafael2knorayr, 10W, 2A @ 5V14:57
rafael2knorayr, never ever let it completely discharges... this is how my first hw kbd died14:57
norayrhmmm, 2A chargers don't charge it for me. :/14:57
Wizzup23:58 < Wizzup> sicelo: I had this the other day, I search logs and rafael said to remove dbus-x11 and then to install it again by force14:57
Wizzup23:58 < Wizzup> I did this with dpkg14:57
Wizzup23:58 < Wizzup> (installing the cached .deb)14:57
buZz1671472029 <norayr> i did dpkg --configure gconf2, it failed, then i tried to dpkg --configure libgconf-2-4, it also failed, but now apt-get -f install goes.14:57
buZzah, different one14:58
rafael2knorayr, it also mentions 1.67A @ 9V14:58
rafael2knorayr, install this: https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/pinephone-keyboard14:58
norayrtheir wiki says it requires 3.5A if i remember correctly.14:58
norayrrafael2k: thank you! will install it in when i have time today. ooor, whenn you add it to the repos?14:59
rafael2kthen, ppkb-i2c-flasher -e i2c -i fw-user.bin write reset15:01
rafael2kI put the firmware build here: https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/pinephone-keyboard/tree/master/firmware/build15:01
buZzWizzup: alright, i had to dpkg -i dbus_bla -and- dpkg -i dbus-x11_bla15:01
buZzthen apt-get -f install would function for the gconf215:02
rafael2kbtw, if anyway have some spare time... I need with with this package... I dunno why it does not go tru, and I get no error in CI chatbot either15:02
rafael2k*anyone15:02
rafael2kthis guy: https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/pinephone-keyboard15:03
rafael2kthen we need to add the xkb and tty kbd maps somewhere too15:04
rafael2kthen we can say we support the pp kbd better than anyone else! : )15:04
sicelotmlind: Wizzup: just pinging in case it gets hidden in other piles of mail - pavel has sent a patch for cpcap battery. who knows ... might work15:10
buZzsicelo: ooo , link to the patch? i wonder what changed :)15:10
freemangordonare you kidding me? "Your message to Maemo-Leste awaits moderator approval"15:11
freemangordon"Too many recipients to the message"15:11
freemangordonsicelo: just replied15:12
freemangordonthat's why the "moderator approval" :)15:12
sicelobuZz: https://marc.info/?l=linux-omap&m=167819256924890&w=215:13
buZz> battery discharding15:14
* buZz giggles15:14
buZzthis looks very cool!15:14
buZzthe 'toggles' matches my finding15:14
buZzi wonder whats ment by > 2) My charger is detected as "USB", not as "AC"15:16
siceloi guess he expects it to be power_supply/ac/... instead of power_supply/usb/15:17
buZzi dont understand how that would affect 'battery life is very poor' though15:21
WizzupI spoke with him about this on fosdem15:22
rafael2kadded an item on configuring the pp kbd here: https://leste.maemo.org/PinePhone#PinePhone_Keyboard15:29
buZzstill dist-upgrading , 20%15:34
Wizzupoh, yeah, this takes a while15:35
Wizzuptry doing dist-upgrade of debian on an old hdd :)15:35
rafael2khey, is Maemo Chimaera ready for release?15:36
rafael2k: )15:36
buZzalmost!15:37
rafael2kcool!15:37
buZzrafael2k: you can try a dist-upgrade? :P15:37
rafael2ksure15:37
rafael2kI already have my chimaera up-to-date15:38
rafael2k0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.15:38
WizzupbuZz: ftr we don't really 'support' dist-upgrade as much, but it ought to work at least :)15:41
Wizzupand yes, I think this weekend we can do the release15:42
buZz:) cool15:45
* buZz 29%15:45
buZzWizzup: we dont really support anything, do we? :P15:45
rafael2kyay!15:47
uvos__define support15:52
Wizzupuvos__: btw looks like both my mz615 also do not have card slots xD15:54
uvos__Wizzup: heh15:59
rafael2kbtw, if anyone on the PP... https://github.com/rafael2k/maemo-pp-control16:00
rafael2kI extended a bit my 1-button app (to call suspend) with some useful stuff for me16:02
buZz... 46%16:05
Wizzupuvos__: what is the thing at the top of the tablet, next to the audio hp? (mz617/mz615)16:10
uvos__the irda port?16:13
Wizzupah, right16:16
buZz.... 71%16:34
buZzlol16:34
buZzooo almost done16:45
buZzalright, initial update;upgrade now done, time for dist-upgrade16:58
buZzomg, its still grabbing beowulf repos from somewhere16:58
buZzhildon-application-manager.list16:59
buZzalright, dist-upgrade now for another ~600 pkgs17:00
buZz:)17:00
buZzah, dist-upgrade hit that > Reverse conflicts early remove for package 'elogind:arm64' failed17:11
* buZz tries 14:48:07 < rafael2k> apt-get -o APT::Force-LoopBreak=yes dist-upgrade17:11
buZzeh lol, during dist-upgrade screen went black and powerbutton doesnt turn it back :P17:30
buZzsliding keyboard does, though17:30
buZzhehe17:30
buZzoh, now powerbutton also works again17:30
rafael2keheheh17:59
rafael2kUSB ethernet is a thing17:59
rafael2k: )17:59
rafael2k<rafael2k> then, ppkb-i2c-flasher -e i2c -i fw-user.bin write reset18:00
rafael2k<rafael2k> I put the firmware build here: https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/pinephone-keyboard/tree/master/firmware/build18:00
rafael2knorayr ^18:00
rafael2knorayr, btw, this can be useful for the pp: https://github.com/rafael2k/maemo-pp-control/18:06
arno11_maemish: I will edit n900 wiki asap18:28
WizzupbuZz: yes, dist-upgrade won't be 'pretty' like that18:32
Wizzupbut hey, it's more than you ever get with most sw ;)18:33
buZzWizzup: totally :D18:36
buZzhmmz, libpython3 seems to be having a hard time, /me tries some dkpg -i18:39
nelafreemangordon: I tried upgrading and it still said that hildon-meta was held back, trying to manually install hildon-connectivity-rtcom complains about osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr0 and osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr not being installable18:41
nelasorry but I had a really busy last couple days18:41
buZzdpkg -i libmpdec* < fixed the python3 issue for me18:43
buZzhmmz, maybe not18:46
nelashould I just force install osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr0 from the beowulf non devel repo? it sounds odd that the non devel repo doesn't have it18:47
nelas/non devel/devel18:47
buZzkeep hitting 'Package python3 is not configured yet.' from gconf2's configure18:47
buZzyet, dpkg-reconfigure python3.9 finishes with no issues18:48
buZzdpkg-reconfigure python3 gives 'python3 is broken or not fully installed'18:48
buZzoooo python3_3.9bla18:50
buZzderp18:50
buZzdang, distupgrade reenabled all locales :D18:54
buZzlocalegen taking forever ;)18:54
freemangordonnela: wait, what, osso-statusbar-presence-l10n-mr0 not installable?19:19
freemangordonWizzup: ^^^?19:19
nelanot from the devel repo, only from the regular one19:19
freemangordonah19:19
freemangordonnela: just enable -devel repos19:20
nelaso have both devel and not?19:20
freemangordonyes19:20
nelayeah that's what I am doing rn19:20
freemangordonok19:20
nelahad to reflash the image because I couldn't upgrade from the chroot19:21
buZzsome locale definitions seem missing? i think locale-gen had some errors19:25
buZzalright, everything finished, poweroff and reboot20:22
buZzaww radicale broke :)20:43
buZzalso, adding 'calendar home widget' back to screen deletes all other widgets, and doesnt add a calendar widget :(20:43
buZzcalendar works fine itself though20:43
buZzradicale broke on some config file though btw, i'll just redo the sync setup20:43
WizzupbuZz: yeah syncevo broke for me20:45
Wizzuplet me know if redoing it works20:46
buZzchromium gives a black window, terminal is complaining about missing libglslcompiler.so20:50
buZzor eh 'couldn't load' anyway20:50
buZzi guess libglslcompiler is part of the driver? i see it on https://git.ti.com/cgit/graphics/omap5-sgx-ddk-um-linux/tree/targetfs/ti335x/lib?h=ti-img-sgx/thud/1.17.494895720:57
buZzchromium --disable-gpu works :)21:00
freemangordonyes, gpu accel is broken21:23
buZzmpv -vo gpu works , though21:53
buZzsome gles applications are giving 'missing GL version'21:53
buZzactually, not sure if they are gles21:53
buZz'megaglest' , i just assumed from the name :P21:55
buZzwow, we have smartwatch integration now? :P i see some amazfit application22:06
buZzah 'cssu features configuration' depends on python-pyqt5 , python2 still i guess?22:13
Wizzupnot everything from beowulf is ported yet22:30
Wizzupnot sure if I ported cssu22:30
buZzits ok, just going around, most stuff seems to work as-is , nice22:37
WizzupbuZz: the syncevo is my biggest bug atm22:42
Wizzupas in imo22:42
WizzupI need to file a bug with them, the config fails with some weird xml paprse fail22:42
buZzhmhm, something about wrong scheme22:44
buZzgood point, i'll try to get syncevo going22:44
Wizzupthey have a semi active mailing list22:50
Wizzupmaybe you can paste the steps that used to work on the old version, and share some debug info with them22:50
buZzyeah i'll just try setting up sync from nothing22:52
buZzi dont remember making a xml by hand, so something automagic made it i assume22:53
buZzWizzup: ok, that leads to the same xml crashes23:13
buZzFatal: fieldlist '' not defined for fieldmap at line 3500 col 623:16
buZzFatal error 20010, no valid configuration could be read from XML file23:16
buZz[ERROR] internal error, invalid XML configuration (with datastores):23:16
WizzupbuZz: yes, if you can mail their list with this, maybe we can get this started23:17
buZzi'm just not sure what the issue is, where is this xml coming from?23:21
buZzah > Synthesis engine configured via XML, generated by SyncEvolution on-the-fly from its own config and XML fragments on disk (/usr/share/syncevolution/xml)23:22
WizzupI think you can start with the instructions, say it worked before, that it's a m-l build, and that the new steps don't work with the new version23:23
Wizzupand paste the error, they will then ask for logs and such23:23
Wizzup(I hope)(23:23
buZzright right23:23
buZzwas just browsing through their list to see if there was anything similar23:23
