dakedresWhat's the difference between the standard and chimera builds?00:39
dakedresOr oh00:39
dakedresThat's what devuan calls bullseye00:40
Wizzupwunderwungiel: ok, got an img, but let me make sure it's a tar not an img00:57
Wizzupdakedres: right00:57
Wizzupbbiab00:57
dakedresI have the phone in fastboot01:01
dakedresHow do I make sure my host machine recognizes it lol01:01
dakedresIt's not like I see it in lsblk01:01
dakedresOH ok. It's saying waiting for device. Cool.01:06
dakedresIs it alright if I use this channel for support as I try to get fastboot to work? For some reason it's not recognizing the usb device. Here's what happens when I run lsusb. https://dakedres.sys42.net/share/mi-lsbusb.txt01:25
Wizzupsure thing, it's just too late for me at night now to stay up, but I can look tomorrow morning01:26
Wizzupthere's also others around01:26
dakedresI see online a lot of people are looking for a Google inc idVendor, which I don't see (but they could be dealing with far more modern devices). I worry it might be one of the unrecognized devices01:26
dakedresAh well thanks I appreciate any help at all haha01:27
Wizzupparazyd: I don't know how to make a .tar.gz from an image instead of just an img.xz, do you perhaps remember how to?11:47
WizzupWe did make them a long time ago for some targets, probably during the ascii times11:47
WizzupI think I finally fixed the bug in arm-sdk that leaves stray mounts12:14
Wizzupwhich breaks the image builder12:14
Wizzupfreemangordon: ping12:27
Wizzupfreemangordon: I am getting stuck building arm64-generic image because of iphbd13:00
Wizzupit wants linux-headers or somehting like it, but when I added | linux-headers-arm64, now our devices in -devel will prefer those headers over our linux-headers-omap13:00
Wizzupargh13:00
maemish_Am I banned?13:57
Wizzupnobody is banned here afaik13:58
maemish_Could not post but maybe now it works.13:58
Wizzupyes13:58
buZzthere's a single ban14:02
buZz*!*@p5deb579e.*  , very old though14:02
buZzi guess its that one guy? clort or something14:02
wunderwungielWhat key is used as "Alt Gr" on Droid 4's Leste, so I can type special Polish keys? SYM doesn't seem to work.14:50
wunderwungielOn normal keyboards Alt Gr + L = Ł. Here not, after changing layout to Polish in settings. Or do I need some command to change it?14:51
wunderwungielCan I also edit the layouts at /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols or no?14:52
buZzi'm not sure anyone made a polish layout yet14:54
buZzmight have to ask pavel ;)14:55
Wizzupwunderwungiel: I'm almost done with the img fwiw14:57
WizzupI am running into a problem with some pkg that wants a kernel14:57
Wizzupwhich we don't have14:57
Wizzupso I need to solve that14:58
buZzis there a source repo of that pkg?14:58
Wizzup?14:58
buZzi could take a look to see why its demanding a specific kernel and not just 'whats on system'14:58
buZzif need be14:59
wunderwungielbuZz: Polish layout is just American layout with few special keys like Ł, Ę which you type by pressing Alt Gr + normal letter. I myself created such layout for F(x)tec Pro1 in Sailfish OS and by editing FinQwerty. It's easy, just these few keys. If you give me info how could I do it myself, I will do it :)15:00
WizzupI know why this is the case buZz15:00
Wizzupit's a kernel module pkg15:00
Wizzupso it needs kernel headers15:00
Wizzup:D15:00
Wizzupthe question is/what kernel we install on the arm64 generic15:00
buZzwunderwungiel: something on top of https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/xkb-data15:01
WizzupbuZz: pavel is czech fwiw15:03
Wizzupnot polish15:03
buZzah, ok, t nx15:03
Wizzupwunderwungiel: if I send you an .img, can you test it?15:14
Wizzupyou might have to make a tar out of it15:14
Wizzupactually I could make a .tar for you15:14
WizzupI worked around it for now, the iphbd issue15:17
wunderwungielOh I was offline18:05
wunderwungielCould you send it again? :)18:06
wunderwungielOh now I read properly18:07
wunderwungielOk I will test it ofc18:07
WizzupI have an image now, but didn't test it ./tmp/devuan-arm64-build/maemo-leste-1.0-arm64-arm64-generic-20230819.img.xz18:07
Wizzupit's not a tar ball, I'll decompress it and mount it, and make a tarball18:09
Wizzuplooks like parazyd removed the tarball feature in 202018:12
WizzupI'll make one myself atm18:14
Wizzup15 mins, uploading now18:18
Wizzupwunderwungiel: https://maedevu.maemo.org/images/arm64-generic/20230819/19:29
wunderwungielWow, great, thank you. Going to try right now19:30
Wizzuplet me know, it might not work at all.19:34
Wizzup:D19:34
arno11Wizzup: sicelo: I can confirm: IR TX works with lirc (irsend), able to control my vintage technics cd player :D20:07
arno11settings are a bit tricky20:07
arno11thx and well done sicelo !20:08
arno11now i can continue Pierogi port20:09
arno11(maybe a lirc GUI could be fun too: there are a lot more protocols and remote profiles available and there are not hardcoded like pierogi)20:15
Wizzupgreat!20:26
Wizzupwe can twitter it if you want / have some screenshots/video20:26
Wizzuptweet*20:28
arno11good idea i will try to make a video i think20:31
arno11in fact now, when i have a look on status table in wiki page, i have only camera and bluetooth which is not working on my N900 lol. everything else is ok :D20:36
Wizzupand I think bt might even work right? it's just a battery hog?20:41
Wizzupnot sure.20:41
arno11i don't know20:41
arno11ah i remember the battery hog now. but something else was wrong with the driver iirc20:46
Wizzupok20:57
siceloarno11: that's awesome!21:00
sicelonon-working includes FM radio ... I'd like to figure that one out as well21:01
siceloas for bt, the driver 'works' but something's really wrong somewhere, so after loading firmware, you can't bring the card up21:02
arno11ok21:02
sicelolook in Fremantle package list ... there should be other programs which do use lirc21:04
siceloi found pierogi to be sufficient for my needs back  then, hence i recommended it.21:04
arno11me too (for fm radio) so we need to fix bluetooth :D21:04
arno11oh yeah pierogi is great21:05
arno11but definitely need more protocols21:05
siceloit may even be that we can bring up  fm radio while bt still non-working ... not sure21:09
arno11ah ok maybe we just need the antenna and not the driver?21:12
siceloantenna is the earphones21:12
siceloit's possible that by just having the chip turned on, we might get fm radio21:15
arno11ah ok21:15
arno11interesting21:15
Wizzuphttps://phoenix.maemo.org/view/Images/job/leste-image-arm64generic/1/console21:16
Wizzuplet's see21:16
siceloproblem is that the chip has no docs ... seems also not off-the-shelf. nokia appears to have customized the broadcom chip21:16
arno11ok so probably a hard task21:17
sicelodrivers are foss ;-)21:18
siceloand they say code is documentation...21:18
