freemangordonsicelo: please, before you test, add 'init_waitqueue_head(&ir_rx51->wqueue);' before line '/* Use default, in case userspace does not set the carrier */'06:00
maemish_https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/owRYMLKn/1000009838.jpg11:02
Wizzupyour collection?11:08
maemish_The ones above are N900s without the motherboars. I can't keep them anymore cause they all the time remind me of not getting the boards back from a maemo member. They are finding a new home to be as spare parts for N900 users. Would prefer someone from maemo dedicated group. Will donate them. They all have filled the organ donation paper. Will not save most of the other devices either. I have already send N810 devices to11:08
maemish_forum members as well as N900s since 2018 but few are left. Also now got these N950 protos as well as N9 protos. Will donate a few but will probably sell few. Silver ones are 64gb. One is good, the other not as good but working and that I will donate to a friend.11:08
Wizzupthat sucks @ not getting the boards back11:10
maemish_The member trzyzet just vanished from all mobile forums and so did the motherboards. I think something bad happened to him. I first thought of tracking him down and started to do it but my mind got too poisoned and finally stopped. Peace of mind and purity of heart is more valuable than even this many N900s. But I hope someone could take these cases with displays from me. There are keypads too for many but many were without11:12
maemish_even when I got these.11:12
Wizzupokay, yeah, it sounds like they can be used to restore some n900s11:13
WizzupI'd personally be interested in having a n950 so we can make maemo run on it, but it's very niche so probably not great for increasing the community size ;)11:14
maemish_So please, if someone thinks he could help from Leste group to take the cases pm me on TMO.11:15
Wizzupare the other three N9 ?11:15
maemish_Yes, N9 protos. Too works well, one booted only once to GUI and have not been able to even reflash. Some problems with the hw. I can even make it to the file system with ubiboot rescue but can't reflash.11:17
WizzupI think I have a N9 here so don't need that too much11:25
Wizzupbut it would be cool if we can use this to maemo leste's advantagfe11:25
maemish_So will donate only the N900 cases and displays. There will be some with motherboards which have different problems, some which are probably recoverable. The protos have already people to whom they will go. One N950 proto with two N9 protos will sell to a friend. The other N950 proto not working that well and N9 not working well will donate to forum member. At the moment unemployed so I need to sell the working protos to get11:41
maemish_some money.11:41
maemish_And I will only donate the N900 cases to members I know from TMO. So if there is just some random guy here who thinks he could make money with them no need to try to pm me.11:43
maemish_N900s with motherboards: one with bootloop, atleast one with no calls, some has a lock code and that sort of stuff which I don't have time to try to fix. Will check few more full N900s that they don't have my stuff in them and will include them.11:52
maemish_A member from Finland would be best so I can give the storage too and would not cost sending or take time to package.11:55
maemish_https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/ghV6CtnM/1000009839.jpg11:56
WizzupI/we could distribute some of these to people and maemo leste pay for shipping11:59
sicelofreemangordon: seems to still hang, unless i made a mistake somewhere12:00
maemish_I think making Leste to run on N950 is off no use. So few have them and fewer use them so I think it is a wasted time.12:00
maemish_But I stop flooding about this and will wait if someone pm me on TMO so I can send them all. Cleaning up my life and these need to go.12:02
maemish_By the way, the member to whom I sent the motherboards sent then this info. https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/Uc9UBIr0/1000009841.jpg12:15
arno11Wizzup: i tried to remove the 'hide_callerID' stuff from calls and it works now in ofono dial-number script. The trick is to set hide_caller ID "default" to "no" or "false". Then run the script: it shows an error. Then set to "default" again and it works even after reboot.12:40
arno11of course still doesn't work with sphone12:40
arno11but seems to be related to dbus ofono and not sphone directly12:40
arno11sicelo:  :(12:41
arno11*for irtx12:42
siceloi am doing another test with the line fmg said to add.12:42
arno11ah yes ok12:43
Wizzuparno11: where do you set this?12:44
Wizzuparno11: so the caller id hiding isn't a problem in sphone, it was a problem in the telepathy stuff12:44
Wizzupmaemish_: well they are similar to n9, so12:44
arno11yes but a problem in ofono dial-number script as well, weird12:45
Wizzuparno11: as in I know how to set it, and I'm pretty sure sphone does the right thing12:45
arno11ok12:45
WizzupI just don't know how to have it *not* set when telepathy makes the initial call12:45
Wizzupsince it doesn't offer an interface for it afaics12:45
arno11should't be a dbus ofono issue ?12:46
arno11*couldn't12:47
arno11otherwise it means we have 2 separate issues with same symptoms12:48
WizzupI don't think so, but maybe12:48
Wizzupclearly sphone has no problems12:48
Wizzupso yeah12:48
Wizzupafaik caller id hiding is off by default12:48
arno11ah interesting12:48
WizzupI assumed, at least12:49
Wizzupit doesn't hide my caller id on the droid412:49
arno11with sphone or ofono scripts ?12:49
arno11or both ?12:50
Wizzupsphone12:50
Wizzupidk about ofono scripts, I don't really use them much12:50
arno11ok12:50
sicelofreemangordon: arno11: yes, still hangs12:50
WizzupI guess no trace yeah?12:51
arno11sicelo: arghh12:51
siceloi can try later to see about trace12:51
WizzupI mean if we think we need this change anyway we can add it to the droid4-linux in maemo/chimaera-experimental12:58
sicelofreemangordon: this is what i got ... take with a grain of salt, since nowhere it seems to mention ir-tx ... https://paste.debian.net/1290888/13:10
arno11no irtx but hrtimer_interrupt13:16
arno11i don't understand why ir-rx51 uses hrtimer while dts only mentions dmtimer13:18
arno11but it is a bit too complicated for me13:19
freemangordonsicelo: this is totally different oops14:13
freemangordonarno11: dmtimer if for PWM, IIRC14:13
freemangordon*is for14:13
freemangordonsicelo: how did you capture that oops?14:25
freemangordonit looks a bit strange14:25
freemangordonany chance to build kernel on your machine?14:35
freemangordonI thinke14:35
freemangordon *I think 'init_waitqueue_head(&ir_rx51->wqueue);' is enough to move further14:36
sicelofreemangordon: sorry. seems that init_waitqueue_head didn't make it to the final build. rebuilding shortly14:45
sicelofreemangordon: it's working :-)15:07
siceloWizzup: i guess you can add that change and build, so arno can test with his pierogi15:07
sicelowhen i say working ... i mean pulse is sent (shows up when recording using video camera), and there's no crash afterwards15:08
arno11sicelo: woohoo15:11
arno11yeah same idea for pierogi :)15:11
sicelocould you share the pierogi/lirc setup perhaps?15:17
arno11Wizzup: if you add the changes to -devel or -experimental, i can confirm if it works or not really soon15:18
arno11sicelo: yes sure, what do you prefer ?15:19
arno11i can directly send you a working pierogi .deb if you want to test quickly15:22
siceloi don't have my Leste sdcard handy atm ... overwrote it with Nemo when I was still groping in the dark for that cursed N900 earpiece :p15:24
arno11ah ok :)15:24
sicelohow about just uploading it to maemo-leste-extras ... even if it's presently incomplete15:25
Wizzuparno11: sicelo: pls share a complete patch and uvos or I can do it15:27
Wizzuparno11: just a git link to pierogi would be good too15:28
sicelofor the kernel, it's https://pastebin.com/raw/r9Uae0jV15:28
siceloi guess that applies fine for kernel in Leste. i had to forward-port because ir-rx51.c had some changes from around 6.3 ... and I was testing on 6.4.315:29
Wizzupuvos: can you add or to devel, or shall I?15:38
arno11Wizzup: sicelo: i would like to upload pierogi but no computer around me this week lol so i will try this evening from my n90015:48
Wizzupsounds good16:02
siceloif there are problems applying fmg's patch directly, try https://paste.debian.net/1290914/16:33
sicelofor some reason the original one just refuses to apply even in the kernel tag he mentioned. maybe pastebin mangled something ... no idea16:33
siceloso yes, i'm interested to get arno11 testing this patch, so we can see if we need to stop Sean (linux-media maintainer) from dropping rx51 if it really solves the issues arno11 gets with pwm-ir-tx16:35
freemangordonsicelo: could you please test with everything else reverted but 'init_waitqueue_head(&ir_rx51.wqueue);'16:51
Juesthi, how things are coming?16:51
freemangordonsicelo: addded just before the line "/* Use default, in case userspace does not set the carrier */"16:51
sicelosure, will do in about an hour.16:53
siceloarno11 - please send that deb ... i'm removing Nemo from the sdcard17:22
sicelomeantime building kernel ... i'll also share the ir-rx51.ko with you17:23
sicelo arno11 - try https://phoseka.com/ir-rx51.ko ... no guarantees though. my leste image is still downloading17:59
sicelosha256sum ir-rx51.ko = c1ce83595397bf13cc50b0f6a34c91c3a3722eed8dfd0cb2018900e12e1b88f418:00
arno11sicelo: i sent you the .deb by email18:30
arno11i need time to upload pierogi on gh. (i'm busy and only have my n900 atm)18:31
siceloit's ok.  no rush. and thanks, got the email18:32
sicelofreemangordon: 'init_waitqueue_head(&ir_rx51.wqueue);'19:24
sicelothat alone works :-)19:24
siceloarno11 so yes, you can use that module. it's the one that works19:34
sicelounfortunately i can't power on/off my panasonic stereo, even though a blink does show up in video capture19:35
siceloi must add ... the module was built against 6.1.48 in devel, which i suppose is what you're running19:36
sicelounfortunately my installation seems a bit slow and frail - i guess my sd card is suboptimal19:38
freemangordonsicelo: :)19:52
freemangordonthe other part of the patch is just an improvement19:53
sicelolinux-media maintainer feels we should be using pwm-ir-tx. do you think/see anything special with ir-rx51?19:54
WizzupI always find that frustrating: find the bug, fix it, and then hear you can't use this because you have to switch to yet another thing20:00
sicelowell, he said it 5 years ago, unrelated to the bug :-)20:01
sicelopwm-ir-tx does work, so he was right. from arno's testing, we know it is a bit 'slow.' I'm interested to know if the fixed ir-rx51 doesn't have same issue20:02
arno11(back for few minutes)20:06
arno11sicelo: i got the wrong kernel - updating now20:06
arno11i'll try to test asap20:06
Wizzupsicelo: ok20:07
sicelofreemangordon: i would like to request your assistance with N900 bluetooth. that's the remaining broken 'user-facing' subsystem. i think i could then work on the FM RX20:09
arno11sicelo: the driver works a bit20:46
arno11able to send pulse correctly 2 times / 1020:47
arno11at 50 cm maximum20:47
arno11but able to open close my CD20:47
arno11play stop pause20:47
arno11with pierogi20:47
arno11seems the signal is to weak and still too slow20:48
siceloweaker than with ir-pwm-tx?20:49
arno11a bit weaker maybe20:52
arno11difficult to compare because ambiant temp is now different20:53
sicelohow would you compare the slowness and/or success rate between the two drivers?20:53
arno11i can't really compare the two drivers20:54
arno11that's just a feeling20:54
arno11so that's just to give an idea20:54
arno11nothing really accurate20:55
siceloof course :-)20:55
arno11the main diff is that now my pierogi port works (a bit) :)20:55
siceloit was less usable with pwm-ir-tx?20:55
arno11yes definitely20:56
sicelooh, so ir-rx51 is better in some way then20:56
arno11because with wm-ir-tx you have to repeat pulses a lot to get a command working20:56
arno11with ir-rx51, when it wants to work, only one pulse is enough to get the command20:57
siceloi guess i must ping Sean then (linux-media guy) ... so ir-rx51 is not dropped, at least not yet20:57
arno11oh yeah20:57
arno11we need it for the moment20:58
arno11one more thing: my test from today is with stock cpu freqs20:59
arno11not with overclock, i'll have to make a new uimage again to overclock with the new kernel20:59
arno11and to see if there is a diff20:59
uvos__Wizzup: ill do it tomorrow @ kernel patch21:00
Wizzupty21:07
arno11sicelo: i forgot to mention that pwm-ir-tx is not working with pierogi at all21:16
arno11pwm-ir-tx only works with Lirc (when it wants...)21:16
freemangordonI wonder if this is PM related21:42
freemangordonlike, maybe dmtimer gets stopped21:42
arno11freemangordon: sicelo: woohoo it works !22:44
arno11cpu locked at 850MHz and pierogi works well (but maximum @ 1 meter)22:45
arno11indeed dmtimer seems to be the issue22:46
arno11almost all controls work with my CD player (and TV)22:47
arno11btw i uploaded Pierogi4Leste on my temp gh: https://github.com/Arno1103/Pierogi4Leste22:51
arno11Wizzup: i suppose i have to open an issue on maemo leste extra to add Pierogi ?22:52
Wizzupwell poking me here is fine too23:13
arno11ok cool23:14
